About Mario Testino Mario Testino, born October 30 in Lima Peru, 1954, is a Peruvian fashion photographer. He attended the Universidad del pacificos, and the University of San Diego. He later traveled to London to study photography. Some of his best work has been featured in magazines such as Vogue, and Vanity Fair. He has photographed campaigns for designers such as Gucci, Burberry, Michael Kors, Versace, and Dolce & Gabbana. Photo Critique “In your Face,” Boston, 2009 Artificial lighting (studio lights) The main subject is the girls’ face. And the vibrant colors. The composition makes the photo so striking because Testino used the rule of thirds, and texture. I liked this photo because of the way the model is posing and how vibrant the colors are. The lighting also makes for a great picture. “Asia Major,” 2004 Artificial lighting (studio lights) The main subject is the two “warriors.” The composition makes the photo so striking because of lines. The story behind this photo is about a battle between two warriors. I chose this photo because of how powerful it looks and how the poses of the models really make the photo. “Best of Beauty,” 2014 Artificial lighting (studio lights) The main subject is the foundation on Cara’s face. The composition makes the photo striking because of texture.
