What Do Animals Eat? Keisha S. Vales

1 st Grade Subject: Science Grade Level: 1 st grade Summary: This activity is for students to identify the different type of food animals eat to have a nutritious diet. Objective: The student will identify different foods that animals eat to live.

Facts All animals eat to survive. Animals take in food at their mouths, munch it with their teeth, and the teeth break it down so it can be taken into the stomach. All the nutritious bits of the food are absorbed into the body through the intestine, and the rest comes out the other end. Animals need food, water, shelter to survive.

Information Another way of finding out what an animal eats is by looking at its gut. The shape and size of an animal's intestines and stomach tell us a lot about its diet. Some animals eat meat, fish, nuts, grass, leaves, branches, trees, plants, and vegetables.

Information Continues What do Animals Eat? You can discover what their favorite foods are and sometimes what they don’t like to eat. What do Animals Eat?
