The Tiger Rising By: Kate DiCamillo Sofia Cianciaruso

The main characters were Rob Sistine The Tiger This story took place… (setting) The motel The woods At school

I thought the biggest problem was I thought the biggest problem was the tiger was locked up in a cage. Sistine wanted to set the tiger free but Rob did not. The problem was solved when The problem was solved when they decided to set the tiger free.

At the beginning… It started off when Rob was out in the woods wandering, hoping he would get lost or eaten so he wouldn’t have to go to school. Then there it was, that’s when he saw Beauchamp with a cage, and inside the cage was a tiger, a real-life tiger. He did not think about the rash on his legs, and he also hadn’t thought about his mother since the funeral. Rob had a way of not thinking about things. He would put all of his feelings in a suitcase and kept the suitcase shut.

Then, At school the next day Mr. Phelmer, Robs principal told him to stay home until his rash cleared up. But rob knew it would never clear up. On the bus ride home Rob met a girl named Sistine and told her about the tiger. Sistine says she would let the tiger go, but Rob disagreed. When Rob got home he told his dad and his dad about what the principal said. “ That’s nonsense”, his dad said

Next, Later on Sistine came over and they talked about things. Rob told her about the death of his mom. When Sistine left Rob went to go check on the tiger. Once Rob got there he saw Beauchamp. Beauchamp was feeding the tiger and asked Rob if he wanted to take the job. Rob said yes and Beauchamp gave Rob the meat.

At the end, After school Sistine came over again. They went to see the tiger and Rob brought the meat. When they got there (under a lot of presure) they opened the cage and set the tiger free. A little bit after they heared gun shooting. Rob and Sistine ran over and saw that the tiger had been killed by Robs dad. They barried the tiger and gave it flowers.

The best part of the story was when I think the best part of the story was when Rob met Sistine because it wouldn’t be a complete story if he didn’t.

I didn’t like The part I didn’t like was when Robs dad killed the tiger because rob already had a dead mom and it was sad.
