CARBOHYDRATES Function - main source of energy for the body. - sugars starches and fiber. - body stores limited amounts of carbs, the rest are stored as fats. Source - apples, potatoes, carrots, cereals, whole wheat bread, popcorn, brown rice, beans, oranges, pears

PROTEINS Function: - growth, build, repair and maintain body tissue, regulate body processes and supply energy make up 50% of total body weight, skin, nails, and hair mostly protein Sources: - eggs, poultry, meat, fish, nuts, milk, yogurt, beans, seeds, grains

Vitamins Functions -Helps the body use carbs, proteins and fats Sources Dairy products, leafy green veggies, bananas, meats veggies, fish

Minerals Function - Regulate many chemical reactions in the body Sources Milk, dairy products, meats, poultry, seafood, fruit

Fats Function -Provides energy and helps body store and transport vitamins Source nuts, butter, margarine, salad dressing, oils, meat, egg yolk, sour cream, pastries, ice cream cheese.
