BSI “BROAD SWEEPS OF IMAGINATION” The project called; BSI“Broad Sweeps of Imagination” is one of the projects of Comenius Multilateral Projects of Life Long Learning Programme; which was accepted in 2007.

WHO ARE THE TARGET GROUPS OF THE BSI PROJECT? The project implementation started with trainings in BSI method of a group of 10 people in each partner country. The trainees were the teachers in foreign languages, methodologists in foreign language teaching.

INITIAL TRAININGS IN PARTNER COUNTRIES

WHO WILL CARRY OUT THE PROJECT? The BSI project gathered together partners from Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy and Romania and will be carried out in two years. Göztepe İhsan Kurşunoglu Anatolian High School in Turkey as a coordinating institution Kadıköy Provincial and District National Education Directorate in TR ICCF (Intercultural Cooperation Foundation) in Bulgaria Valahia University Targoviste in Romania FENICE (National Federation of Teachers Centre of the initiative for Europe) in Italy are the partners of this project.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS OF THE BSI PROJECT? INITIAL TRAININGS TEST IMPLEMENTATION EVALUATION & DISSEMINATION

WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE INSERVICE TEACHER TRAININGS IN PARTNER COUNTRIES? The Teacher Training Course for in-service teachers in foreign languages the project is aimed at creating of network of trained foreign language teachers who act as disseminators of the innovative method.

WHAT ARE THE OUTPUTS OF THE PROJECT? The BSI GUIDELINE BOOK will encompass the basic principles of the BSI method A specially created e-platform which supports the teachers’ work International Teacher Training Course Programme

WHAT ARE THE AIMS OF THE BSI PROJECT? The main aim of the project is; the dissemination of a new teaching method to recreate a new method to compensate prompt the deficiency in communicative language usage. Supporting the language diversity in language teaching context through an adaption and dissemination phase of the BSI method. Proving the universal applicability of this innovative Method

Disseminating our best practices in application of the innovative BSI method in wider European context promoting the foreign language learning and language diversity which is in line with the policy of the European Community. contribution to promote the intercultural awareness in the school education enhancing in this way the quality of teaching and learning of foreign languages in the school education.

THE PROCESS OF THE BSI PROJECT… The practising teachers trained in this way test-implement the newly acquired knowledge in their practice and give feedback about the applicability and adaptability of the BSI teaching method. Part of the trainees who attended the initial teacher training are the project experts who monitor and evaluate the process of the Test implementation of the BSI method on the local level in their country.

They assess the effectiveness of the BSI decided about the contents of the BSI Teacher Training Course Program. They worked also on the elaboration of the BSI Guidelines book through collecting information for supporting materials and resources that might be helpful for teachers’ work with the new method.

Within the BSI project, we aim to address to reach out the teachers of foreign languages in the international context through a Teacher Training Course. This course will enable the project partners to disseminate the BSI method through the Europe and go on its journey in the Comenius catalogue. Through this, we would contribute to the enhancing the quality and European dimension of teachers’ profession.
