integration

* Why Arts Integration? Research has shown that arts experiences improve reasoning, intuition, perception, imagination, inventiveness, creativity, the ability to work as a team, problem solving and expression. The US top 500 businesses said the above characteristics are what they are looking for in employees.

* The arts help create the kind of learning environment conducive to student and teacher success by: * Fostering teacher innovation * Creating a positive professional culture * Improving community engagement * Increasing student attendance * Promoting more effective instruction * Providing a positive school identity

* Arts Integration allows the students to show/explain what they have learned in different formats.

Areas of Needed Improvement Staff development for all staff on Arts Integration strategies Focus on Dance and Theatre at SCSDB More opportunities in all of the arts during the instructional day More opportunities in all of the arts afterschool
