WELLBEING

At Strive Wellbeing we care about people’s needs and views, both now and for the future. Wellbeing, generally defined as “being healthy and happy” can mean different things to people. We spend time getting to know our clients to find out how we can really help.

WELLBEING Some of the benefits for our clients: Getting out more Keeping busy and active Meeting new people Discovering new interests and activities

WELLBEING Clients need to be referred by a professional e.g. Doctor, Health Visitor, Nurse, CPN, Social Worker or Community Worker.

WELLBEING All our volunteers are: Carefully selected Providing 2 references PVG checked Fully trained Select their own volunteering opportunities Referred to partner organisations (independent and third sector) if more appropriate assistance is offered

WELLBEING Men in Sheds Nearly 30 members attending Macmerry Men's Shed two days a week on Tuesday and Thursdays. Activities include practical woodworking, fly-tying, painting and drawing and community projects. We opened a Men’s Shed in Dunbar during July, which has had a lot of interest. SHEd There is also the first of its kind, SHEd in Dunbar. These are held on a Wednesday in the Belhaven Parish Hall.

WELLBEING “It’s helped me get more motivated and I’ve met a load of new friends.” “I’ve enjoyed myself, very happy, full of beans again!” “I have to say, I’ve enjoyed having you here… I haven’t laughed this much in ages!” “I love the social aspect of our group, sharing skills, working on community projects and having a laugh.”
