Bill A bill is a proposed law

Law Set rule that society is supposed to go by,(often broken)

Fines Amount of money imposed as a punishment for a small crime

Corporate taxes Taxes placed on businesses

Term limits Limit on how long a government official can hold office

National debt The amount of money the government owes

Treaty Formal agreement between one or more countries

Patriot Act Relaxes constitutional restrictions on law enforcement to allow them to secure evidence more easily

Party leader Acknowledged leader of whatever political party he/she is a part of

Medicare Health insurance for people over 65

Medicaid Health benefit for low income families

Expulsion A senator commits an act so offensive he is removed from congress
