WEB 2.0 PRESENTATION BY: BEVAN MULLOWNEY

WIKI SPACES This tool is an educational tool that students and teachers can use to collaborate together on. This tool is great for teachers because it can be used with students in the classroom and with other co- workers. Wiki spaces can have different securities available to make your wiki as private as possible. Teachers and users can design their website that is comfortable for them.

WIKI SPACES Wiki spaces provides: 2 + GB storage. Built in discussion forums. Fast support. Unlimited pages and members. Free trials and wikis. Features for teachers.

WIKI SPACES CONTINUED… This tool works for different ages and uses such as business or school. You can have as many wikis as you want! Wiki spaces provides help at any time where someone can answer any questions about wiki spaces if needed. ( or phone)

HOW IS IT BEING USED… Wiki spaces can be used for individuals and groups or for organizations. Wikis that can be used for groups or individuals can be used to share photos, videos, presentations, documents, and more. This is especially true with teachers. Teachers can use the clear and easy to use tools to edit their wiki the way they see fit.

HOW IS IT BEING USED CONTINUED… Businesses and other organizations can use this tool to share information, create presentations, meetings, and forms to a large group of people. Only to those whom have access can download this information or look at any information on your wiki.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IN THE CLASSROOM… Teachers can share folders, documents, pictures, websites, and videos on wiki spaces. Students can maintain access to the wiki space from the website at any time and can contact the teacher if needed. Wiki saves any editing so your work will always be there. Bonus for teachers! Wikis are fun for students because it is fast, easy to use, the information is easily accessible, and available 24/7!

IN THE CLASSROOM CONTINUED… There are wikis that provide certain uses that teachers can use in their classroom. For example the K-12 plan is just used for these grades. Security is made available, its free, and no more ads either! This helps with the reliability and safety for students on the wiki.

IN THE CLASSROOM… A Higher Education plan can be used as well for teachers with students of big bulk. Using a creator tool to make student accounts is a way that teachers can look at student work and edit their wiki.

IN THE CLASSROOM… Educational development notes resource :This is used for English teachers in the classroom and development workers. Students and teachers can connect with others around the world through wiki as well. Teachers can share their information with others if the wiki is remained in public. Teachers can use this wiki for free as a basic wiki or for more substantial features, it is only at most dollars.

WIKI SPACES FOR ME (RECOMMENDATIONS) I have used wiki spaces for a classroom before. This is a great educational tool. It downloaded the material easily, it did not crash, it was organized easily, and editing was great. The wiki held a lot of information such as videos, websites, documents, and presentations. The layout of the website made it easy to find whatever you need.

RECOMMENDATIONS CONTINUED… Students accessed the wiki at any time and could contact the teacher at any time as well. As long as the url was given, the student could access the website. I still access old wikis. I would use it again and as a future teacher because it is so easy, efficient, and free. I have also used shutterfly- it is Also used as a wiki just like Wiki Spaces.
