AMY BUCHERT- GALACTIC TIPS CLICK FOR ACTIVITY

You will need to click the mouse to show answers for activities. This will allow you to control the timing of answers shown. We suggest that students keep a journal. It is critical for students to use writing skills to explain their answers. Please take time to discuss possible solutions to problems. TEACHER TIPS

This activity will address the following State Math Standards: Students will use a variety of problem solving strategies (such as making a list, drawing a picture, looking for a pattern, acting out the problem). (MO Problem Solving I) Develop and apply strategies to predict, prevent, and solve a wide variety of problems. (MO 3.2, 3.3) Use problem solving approaches to explore and construct meaning from mathematical content. (MO 1.6, 3.4, 3.5, 3.7)

Four Magic Numbers Use the magic numbers 4, 6, 0, and 5. You are not allowed to repeat them.

How many four-digit numbers can you make that are less than 5,000? 4, 6, 0, 5 REMEMBER: Make an organized list showing all possibilities in your math journal.

How many four-digit numbers can you make that are less than 1,000? 4, 6, 0, 5 REMEMBER: Make an organized list showing all possibilities in your math journal.

How many four-digit numbers can you make that are less than 6,000? 4, 6, 0, 5 REMEMBER: Make an organized list showing all possibilities in your math journal.
