 When you are considering adopting a pet, there are multiple factors you need to take into account.  You need to know that this is a long commitment and that there will be a lot of vet bills.

CatDog Do you have other pets that might not get along with a cat? Do you have time to walk your dog daily? Do you have a safe neighborhood if your cat goes outside? Do you have small children? Remember that some dogs are not child-friendly. Are you willing to invest money in your cat? Ex. Scratching posts, litterboxes. Do you have a yard for your pet to run around in?

 Are you financially able to support a pet? There will be yearly vet bills, and if your pet gets sick, those bills will be even higher.  Do you have a good home environment?  Are you able to dedicate a lot of your time to a new pet?  Are you willing to housetrain your new pet?
