Revise Revise Re-back, again vis-look To look again! Get two colored pencils

Step 1. With one of the colored pencils, divide your paper into “scenes” – Number each scene.

Step 2 READChooseREAD each scene. Choose at least TWO scenes to revise –After you read each scene, ask yourself Does this scene add to the overall meaning of my story? Can I add a detail to make the picture more vivid? Do I need to delete anything that’s not needed?

Step 3 On a separate sheet of paper, put the scene number of one of the scenes to which you will add more detail.

So there we sit in the middle of August in South Georgia with no air conditioning an several dozen people are there and everybody is tore up and sad because of the passing. Everybody was sweating so much I was afraid it was going to come up a cloud in the living room because the humidity level had to be rising because of all the sweat. Scene 2

Clean copy Add your scene to the rest of your paper. Be sure to add the details. Remember that I want to “see” your story. Do you have dialogue? Do you use imagery? Do you have your “law of life” ?
