The New Free Throw Rule

Scorer’s Table Team A BenchTeam B Bench Players in marked lane spaces may enter the lane space upon release. The player that is “boxing out” the shooter may do so, but may not impede the shot by the free thrower, and he/she may not displace or push the shooter backwards.

Scorer’s Table Team A BenchTeam B Bench If the player “boxing out” pushes or displaces the free throw shooter, it’s no different than pushing or displacing a player in any other play situation. Call the foul & administer accordingly.
