Teaching Statistics By

Preparation for Section Work out problems in section handout Read carefully and run through problems in ‘quiz homework’ Attend class regularly! –Importance of referring to Ewart’s lectures

Section Arrive a little early for setup Pass around attendance sheet –Occasional need to correct yourself after section Don’t be afraid to say “I don’t know…but I’ll find out”

Section Start on time –Don’t get bogged down on a single issue/problem State what type of problem it is –Have students read problem Introduce problems conceptually –Make references to Ewart’s language from lecture

Section Work through each question in a step-by- step fashion Stop frequently to ask if there are questions Don’t get bogged down trying to explain one problem
