Grading Grades are not weighted The total number of points earned are divided by total number of points possible. Students must turn in work on time. The next day it’s late. Then, no credit is awarded.

What does a typical day look like? *Objective Questions: Students ask questions based on the objective for the day – ensures understanding *Warm Up: recaps previously learned information or probes prior knowledge on a new topic Activity: self-guided activity, class discussions, debates, group work *Closure: reviews the topics covered in today’s lesson / notebook

New PARCC Assessment Type Questions Based on Common Core More critical thinking –not rote memory Short response Focuses on text analysis and critical reading skills Requires support of responses with evidence

The Main Topics – from a Global Perspective Quarter 1: Changing World Societies, Cultures, and Trade Quarter 2: Revolutions and Reactions Quarter 3: Nationalism, Crisis and Change Quarter 4: Global Issues in a Contemporary World
