Jack London: Call of the Wild Background Information

Write the following background information down in your binder: Jack London ( ) is actually John Griffith. Jack London is a pen name. A pen name is another name an author uses when publishing his or her books. London was the most successful writer in the early 20 th century. He wrote stories of men and animals against the environment and their survival. He drew from his own experiences and used them in his books. His years spent in the Klondike region (arctic) affected him the most because this is what he wrote about. His works “embraced the concepts of unconfined individualism and Darwinism in its exploration of the laws of nature.” (survival of the fittest)
