Bar Graphs Prepared by: Melody C. Baetiong Project Work

Outline Objectives Target Audience Time Frame Tasks Instructions to Students Assessment

Objectives To improve understanding of bar graphs To create a bar graph To read and interpret data presented in a bar graph To promote cooperation and teamwork in a group

Target Audience Grade 4 pupils 5 to 6 pupils in a group

Time Frame The Project Work will take 2 to 3 days First Day  Orienting the pupils about project work (The proposed project on constructing bar graphs, who are they going to survey, how to go about the project work or how to gather the information/data, how/ what materials are they going to use for their project work presentation)

Time Frame Second Day  Presentation of their Project Work  Have the pupils present their bar graphs in a cartolina and let them read and interpret the data they have collected.  The presentation of Project Work on bar graphs may take another day (Third Day) since there are 10 groups that are going to present their constructed bar graphs

Tasks The groups will create a bar graph. One topic per group The topics they can choose can be found below:  Number of Siblings  Amount of Pocket Money  The Time We Go to Sleep  Number of Hours Studying

Tasks  Favorite Place in School  Favorite Color  Favorite Food  Favorite Superhero  Favorite Fruit  Favorite Vegetable

Tasks Guide Questions  What is the title of your bar graph  How many persons did you surveyed?  What does your bar graph tell you: x- axis y – axis  What can you tell about the results shown on your bar graph?

Instructions to Students Roles: Group Leader, Secretary, Reporter, Surveyors, Artist Responsibilites: Gather information/survey, planning/organizing on how to go about the construction of bar graph, creating the final presentation Where to get resources? Classmates (respondents), textbook (for reference)

Instructions to Students The pupils will create and present their bar graph on a cartolina. The respondents for their survey will be their classmates, a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 respondents for the survey. They will present their bar graphs to the class.
