Survey Methodology Sample Size: 2,820 responses, representing 83.3% of higher education enrollments. Participants: Active, degree-granting institutions of higher education in the U.S. Collected by Babson Survey Research Group and the College Board.

6.7 million students across the U.S. are taking at least one online course.

In 2012, 86.5% of higher education institutions had online learning offerings.

Private, NFP institutions have shown the greatest increase in online offerings in the last ten years. Full online programs doubled!

Learning Outcomes Over 75% of institutions believe online learning is “just as good as” or better than face-to-face courses.
