Working Group Items draft-ietf-mboned-ssmping – Now RFC 6450! draft-ietf-mboned-mtrace-v2-08 – To be revised, new editors assigned draft-ietf-mboned-mcaddrdoc-03 – Passed WGLC, will request publication draft-ietf-mboned-64-multicast-address-format-01 – Publication requested

Charter Update Currently, the charter says: “This is not meant to be a protocol development Working Group.” Need to clarify – Operational/troubleshooting/ transition protocols are within scope (eg, SSM Ping, Mtrace, AMT) – Routing/Group membership protocols out of scope (eg, PIM, IGMP, MLD, BGP, etc) Do not intend to expand scope, only clarify

Charter Update Proposed update: “Development of tools and protocols that assist in multicast administration, diagnostics, troubleshooting, deployment and transition. While development of routing and group membership protocols is out of scope, this working group may assist in review and feedback of documents in other working groups responsible for such protocols.”

Charter Update Also, remove completed charter items: – “Update RFC 3171/BCP 51 based on experience.” RFC 5771 – “Develop a roadmap informational RFC that describes the current IPv4 and IPv6 IETF multicast architectures, including references to the relevant IETF documents and guidance for implementers and network operators.” RFC 5110 – “Complete the MSDP MIB.” RFC 4624
