Follow The Clues... When you chat to people online you might be giving away more than you think...

You could be talking to anyone from anywhere in the world online...

Chatting Online It is fun to learn about the person you are talking to. It is good to see if you share interests.

Do you know how much it takes to give away too much information? Look at the example of Dan & Sarah:

1 Country: UK

1 Country: Scotland

6 Cities in Scotland

1 City: Edinburgh

1 Town: Dalkeith

6 Cities 1 City 1 Town 1 Place

Found You!

Think... Just by asking a few friendly questions Dan found out where Sarah is... How do you think Sarah could have stayed safer?

Who is Dan?

Think... Are you surprised how quickly Dan could find where Sarah is? What things do we need think about when talking to people we don’t know online?

What sort of information is it ok to share with a stranger online?

Staying Healthy in Chat Be careful, do not give out too much information! Your full name Your address

Your phone number Details of places you go to Date of Birth
