KEY ISSUES TO ADDRESS CHALLENGES URBAN CONSOLIDATION Develop identified nodes to offer opportunities for higher density of development of mixed land uses and housing. Development of corridors which are bands of high density urban development along a public transportation route. Densification and consolidation of urban fabric to limit urban sprawl through the defined urban edge

KEY ISSUES… SOCIAL INCLUSION Develop and maintain supportive facilities (schools, clinics, sport field etc.) to create a more multi- functional urban environment. Create a integrated efficient transport system ensuring that linkages are provided from the railway stations to other nodes within Mdantsane
