Queen Elizabeth grants charter to establish colonies in Virginia. But it is unsuccessful.

separate voyages send English settles and cargo to Roanoke Virginia (now N.C.)

April 10, 1606 King James 1 says OK to establish colonies in what was to be called Virginia.

1587 The colonist choose Roanoke Island for a settlement.

People starved. John White went back to England for more supplies.

John White couldn’t come back because of the war of England and Spain for 3 years.

1590 – John White comes back but nobody is there.

John White sees the words Croatoan written in a tree.

They mentioned nothing so more people would come.

I think he saw that they all died and he covered them up and had more people come to the New World.
