Mr. West’s PE Routines Seven days without exercise makes one weak!

Class Rules Freeze means stop, sit, and listen Respect the feelings of others Work safely and have fun If you have any questions, at any time, raise your hand and I will help you as soon as I can.

Entering the Gym Students will sit in their assigned squads –Students will sit criss-cross applesauce facing the teacher –Students will sit quietly Go over daily objectives

Warm-up A warm-up will begin each class –Students will do the warm-up individually, with partners, in groups or as a class –When the warm-up is finished, we will review or introduce new skills –If we demonstrate and practice our skills proficiently, we will end with an end of class game.

Grouping Busy Bee – Students will stand up, find a partner and sit down next to their partner Student Generator – the smart board will pick groups at random Popsicle Sticks – Using a cup of popsicle sticks with #’s on them, we choose groups by picking sticks. My choice – I will have groups of students already assigned and they will be up on the projector Fun Times – Students will be grouped by using: shirt colors, shoe colors, eye color, favorite color, hair color, pets and non-pets…

Moving to Assigned Areas When we have our groups, we will move to our assigned areas orderly, quietly and at a quick walk. The more efficiently we move between activities, the more time we have for our end of class games.

Now let’s have some fun and get moving!!!
