Classroom Technologies Jacob Shirley Jennifer Ferdman Karan Patel Kelly Garber

Online Teaching Programs Online teaching programs give students the opportunity to enhance their education outside of the classroom These programs often contain: o Video Lectures o Readings o Interactive Tutorials o Homework o Tests and Quizzes

Online Teaching Programs Positive Aspects: o Work and learn at your own pace o Work from anywhere (with internet) o Ability to re-watch lectures or look at past lessons Negative Aspects: o Requires motivation and self control o Requires internet access o Little or no contact personal contact

Using iPads As technology becomes more prevalent, lectures are increasingly being posted on online websites. The use of iPads allow students to catch up, follow, or read ahead on planned lecture slides. By incorporating iPads into education, it is easier for students to stay up to date with course material

Cost of iPads The costs of iPads can easily be incorporated into tuition for Universities For public K-12 schools, the cost of iPads can be difficult to incorporate into the school’s budget. Apple gives special educational rates for public schools for this reason

Increasing relevance in classrooms Makes global interaction possible Can be practical for all school subjects Encourages collaboration Builds student interest in school Skype in the Classroom

SMART Boards an interactive whiteboard promotes interaction in the classroom each student is actively and physically engaged can be used in all subjects and grade levels introduces technology from a young age students involves visual, kinesthetic, and auditory learn styles
