Santa Cruz County Field Day N1MM: A 12-step program -or- A Non-Contester's Guide to Computer Logging

What we're going to cover ● Basics of computer logging  Start up ● Entering station information ● Selecting a contest  Operation ● Logging a QSO ● Changing bands/freqs ● Changing modes ● Changing operators ● Fixing mistakes  Clean up ● Exporting your log ● “No frills”

Step 1: Set personal info

Step 2: Create a new log in the database

Step 3: Open the log window

Step 4: Set band/frequency

Step 5: Set mode

Step 6: Log a contact ● Callsign, class and section ● Use space bar, tab or mouse to move forward ● Shift-tab or mouse to reverse ● => ENTER to log the QSO!!! <=

Step 7: Fix a mistake Quick edit: Just the contact info Double-click the log entry Full edit: Anything you want Edit menu or right click

Step 8: Change operator ● Control-O (operator) ● Also Config-menu ● Easy to do ● Hard to remember ● Needed for correct GOTA scoring!!!

Step 9: Update contest information
