Interesting Statistics About Sexual Behavior in America NOTE: These statistics are limited to cisgendered people and heterosexual sex unless otherwise indicated. Other units and presentations specifically relate to LGBTQIA statistics.

Sexual Activity  The average male has sexual intercourse the first time at age  The average female has sexual intercourse the first time at age  Women average 4 sex partners in a lifetime  Men average 7 sex partners in a lifetime.  2/3 of college students have been in a “friends with benefits” relationship.

Frequency  Number of times per year that the average person has sex: 127  Number of times per year that the average single person has sex: 49  Number of times per year that the average domestic couple has sex: 146  Number of times per year that the average married couple has sex: 98

Pleasure  Number of minutes the average couple spends on foreplay: 20  Average length of sexual intercourse in minutes: 7.3  Number of calories the average person burns during 30 minutes of sexual intercourse: 200

 Percentage of Americans who have had sex with a coworker: 20%  Percentage of women who say they have sex to get their man to help with house work: 84%  Number of calories the average person burns during 30 minutes of sexual intercourse: 200  Percentage of Americans who report being satisfied with their sex life: 48%

Orgasm  75% of women “never” climax during intercourse alone; 75% of men “always” do; 11% of women “always” do.  Percent of women who say they always reach orgasm during sex (not just intercourse): 29%  10-15% of women “never” climax under any circumstances.  Women's orgasms last almost four times as long as men's

Attraction  19% of Americans “don’t consider themselves heterosexual.”  27% have had some same-sex experiences.  It has been difficult to discern percentage of people who are “homosexual,” partially because orientation definitions are hard to pin down. Kinsey found 10% of population were primarily same-sex oriented, but current research indicates lower numbers.

Human Trafficking  As of this writing, UNICEF researchers estimate that there are more slaves today than ever before in the history of the world: estimated 27 million adults and an additional 13 million children.

Porn Viewing  Porn sites get more visitors each month than Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined  70% of men and 30% of women view porn.  53% of Promise Keeper men downloaded Internet porn last month.  30% of all data transferred across the Internet is porn.
