REFLECTIONS: Science has taken me many places, including Japan, Tonga, USA and Hawai`i, but more and more it takes me back to our tūpuna. Their wisdom astounds me and I often wonder when science will catch up – this is where we should teach from bringing science into our world.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE GREAT PŪTAIAO KAIAKO TEACHING IN OUR KURA? SHORT ANSWER: We need more Māori Scientists!
