A: Nursing grades What are the nurses’ grades in a hospital? 1. Student nurse: A nurse who is still in training. 2. Staff nurse: A nurse who has completed the training course. 3. Charge nurse: A more experienced nurse who is in charge of, or responsible for, a ward or department. 4. Nurse manager: A nurse who is in charge of several wards. Note:  The term sister is still alive for female charge nurses.  Female nurse manager may be called matron.

B: Support workers Who are the support workers in a hospital? What are the duties of the staff that works in a hospital? o Clinical support worker Assist nursing staff o Nursing auxiliary o Ward clerks up to date patients’ info, answering phones

C: Specialization What are the specializations that nurses able to take? Midwife: Has done a course in midwifery, the management of pregnancy and childbirth.
