Students may choose to write the optional AP exam, which is offered in early May. Upon completion, students will receive credit for both Economics 12 and Economics 12AP (8 credits in total). OR 2. Pinetree Programs Continued Transition Programs Work Experience (30 hours employability skills/ hours on a jobsite)  If you select WE 12 you must also attach a separate application form to your programming sheet. See Ms. Louie in counselling area for this form. SSA(Secondary School Apprentice) –work in a trade and earn High School Credit  (Examples include: construction workers, cooks, mechanics, and auto body) This program will allow students to: Gain high school credit (every 120 hour of work earns 4 credits to a maximum of 16 credits) School Apprenticeship or ACE-IT programs- District Wide 10

Writing 12 For: Students who have completed English 10 and would like to improve their writing skills This course is designed to help students prepare for senior-level writing at the grade 12 and post- secondary levels. Students will be expected to have at least basic proficiency in the English language. Emphasis will be on using the Writing Process ( prewriting, drafting, editing, proof-reading, and submitting) and the Four R’s of editing (Rereading, Reviewing, Rethinking, and Rearranging) to create a portfolio of compositions in different genres.

35 PINETREE Mathematics for Grade 11 One Math 11 course is required for graduation: Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics 11 Pre-Calculus Mathematics 11 Pre-calculus 11 (Bridge) (MA11A&W credit)  The main purpose of this course is to provide students the opportunity to gain a stronger foundation in the academic stream of Mathematics. Topics are similar to the Pre-Calculus 10 curriculum and attempts to bridge some topics taught in the Pre-Calculus 11 course. Students eager to enroll in Pre- Calculus 11 should aim for a minimum of a B in this course.  Recommended for students who received less than 60% in Foundations of Math &Pre-Calc 10

Summer Learning 2016 and for Grade 12’s Online Intentions: Declare the course you plan to enroll in at Summer School on your Course Planning Sheet. Declare which course you will take in place of this course as you must still take 8 at Pinetree Secondary. A confirmation of your courses including Summer School will be verified in May. You need to notify your counsellor immediately if you have not been able to enroll or your summer plans change. Grade 12’s if you plan to take an online course you must indicate it now what course and where.
