AUB Abnormal uterine bleeding – bleeding from the uterine corpus that is abnormal in volume, regularity and/or timming. Chronic- present for the majority of the last 6 months Acute – an episode of sufficient severity to require immediate intervention to prevent further loss Acute may preset in context of existing chronic AUB IMB – bleeds that occur between clearly defined cyclic and predictable menses
