The Basics We are the Spindletop Rollergirls of Southeast Texas formed November 11 th We play Flat Track Roller Derby – For more info on this please visit We train hard 3 nights a week. We are committed to each other and put a lot of hard work into being a successful league!

Equipment Required to Participate Quad Roller SkatesKnee Pads Wrist GuardsElbow Pads HelmetMouth Guard No skater is allowed to enter the floor without proper protective gear. Rental skates are available. The team also has a few spare pads and helmets available for first timers. They are available on a first come first served basis. Mouth guards can be purchased at Academy.

Qualifications Skaters Requirements Must be Female. Be 21 years or older. Committed attending at least 80% of practices. Be well versed on the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association Official Rules of the Game. The Game Flat Track Roller Derby The game is played with two teams of five girls on the track at one time. Each team has: 3 Blockers 1 Pivot 1 Jammer

The Game Jammer The goal of the Jammer is to make it through the pack without committing any penalties. As the point maker for the team, she scores 1 point for every opposing team member she passes. (No points are scored on the first pass) Signified by the Star on her helmet cover.

The Game Pivot The goal of the Pivot is to assist their Jammer in making it through the pack while preventing the opposing Jammer of making it through the pack. As pack leader for her team, she sets the speed of the pack of blockers. Signified by the Stripe on her helmet cover.

The Game Blockers The goal of the Blockers is to assist their Jammer in making it through the pack while preventing the opposing Jammer of making it through the pack.
