PEI Community Program Planning Review Process The Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (OAC) voted on 9/29/07 to approve funding of Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) Community Program Planning funds from the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) for any county whose funding request met review criteria.

Review Criteria  Is within its FY 07/08 Maximum Community Program Planning funding estimates  Is compatible with the “Community Program Planning Process” as described in Part II Community Program Planning Process, PEI Component of the Three-Year Program and Expenditure Plan  Follows the application’s instructions to “briefly describe the purpose and amount for which the requested funding will be used.”

Funding Request Review Process Step 1DMH receives PEI Community Program Planning requests; forwards copy to OAC immediately and forwards comments to OAC within one week Step 2OAC reviews County’s request and DMH comments within two weeks of receipt of request Step 3Within three weeks, OAC notifies county that fund request is approved or that additional information or modifications are needed Step 4If additional information is required, county resubmits request to DMH and OAC Step 5Repeat step 3 until request is approved
