The Right Honourable Sir Charles Tupper July 2 nd 1821-October 30 th 1915 By: Zachary Sereda “The Human mind naturally adapts itself to the position it occupies. The most gigantic intellect may be dwarfed by being cabin’d, cribbed and confined. It requires a great country and great circumstances to develop great men” (Sir Charles Tupper 1865)

Early Days Charles was born on July 2 nd 1821 in Amherst Nova Scotia. He then went on to the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

Sir Charles Family Life Charles was married to Francois Morse in 1846 for 65 years. Charles Died on October 30 th 1915 in England, Although he was buried in Halifax Nova Scotia.

Starting Politics Charles had entered politics in 1855 as a conservative. He had ran for the Cumberland riding in Nova Scotia. By 1864 Charles had become Nova Scotia’s Premier.

Reign As Prime Minister Sir Charles Tupper has the Shortest reign as P.M in Canadian history. Charles had succeeded Sir Mackenzie Bowell. Tried to deal with the Manitoba School issue.

Political Career Of Sir Charles Tupper Ever since Charles had entered politics in 1855 he never left until his retirement. Charles was very loyal to his party and he was willing to do what it took to get the job done. His hard work was noticed by the “higher ups”.

Accomplishments Tupper had moved his way from just a winner of a riding to Prime Minister of Canada. He had become the Minister of Finance in 1887 and Secretary of State in Also became the leader of the conservative in 1896 to 1901.

My Thoughts I think he is very persuasive and hard working. He helped create Canada and should probably have more recognition than he gets.
