Passive Voice and Punctuation In your paper, find two instances of passive voice and re-write these sentences in active voice. Identify one place where you should use a semi-colon instead of a comma and one place that should use a colon instead of a comma.

Cut and Paste Workshop 1.Cut your paper into paragraphs. 2.Trade your paragraphs with a partner 3.Put your partner’s essay back together. On the back of each paragraph, label the correct of the paragraph, beginning with the number 1.

1.Ask your partner to verify the order of your paragraphs. Return each paper to its original owner. 2.On a piece of paper, number your page with the number of paragraphs in your paper. 3.Cut off your topic sentences or transition sentences that were not effective 4.Next to the numbers on your paper, rewrite the necessary sentences.
