Yue Minjun
He is best known for oil paintings depicting himself in various settings, frozen in laugher. He has also reproduced this signature image in sculpture, watercolor and prints. Yue is often classified as the Chinese "Cynical Realist”. One of the most famous modern-art artist in China Mainland.
Bio Born in 1962, Daqing, China Family was working on an oilfield when he was young, also he taught art in oil school for a short time. Works and lives in Beijing. Famous for the self-portrait series: A-maze-ing Laughter A self-ironic response to the spiritual vacuum and folly of modern-day China.
