doc.: IEEE /0028r0 Submission January 2005 Eleanor Hepworth, Siemens Roke ManorSlide 2 Abstract The following presentation is intended to identify initial concepts that need to be named to support the specification of requirements for TGu, and proposes some terminology for these concepts.

doc.: IEEE /0028r0 Submission January 2005 Eleanor Hepworth, Siemens Roke ManorSlide 4 Terminology Service Provider (Operator?): an organisation offering connection to network services, usually for a fee. The user usually has a contractual relationship with the service provider. Service Provider Network: maintains user subscription information, and is always the same for a given user identity. Correspondent Network: the destination/source network for the user plane traffic travelling to and from the STA/user Roaming: where a user with a subscription to one service provider uses services offered by another (supported by a roaming agreement between service providers).
