FEAR OF RADICALISM As the 1920s began Americans were coping with the uncertainties that followed WWI Tired of world responsibilities Grew more suspicious of foreigners Some Americans were especially disturbed by the Russian Revolution Threatened American capitalism Red Scare= fear of communists ,000 people were arrested who were suspected of being communists
