NATIVISM Nativism defined= the belief that native-born Americans are superior to foreigners Came out of various worries following WWI Rise of the Ku Klux Klan Preyed on groups it believed to represent “un-American values” Congress responded to Nativists fears by passing Emergency Quota Act Placed a limit on the number of immigrants from each country
