Social Studies 10-2 Cyber High

 Welcome everybody! Our course will be run through Google Drive and Google Classroom! Please make sure you log-on to your Google Account and get yourself familiar with our Google Apps!  All assignments will be posted on our Google Classroom and all handouts, rubrics, etc... Will appear in Google Drive under our Class Folder!  All assignments or work that I have asked you to submit, should be submitted through Google Classroom or Google Drive!  Your marks will appear, as usual, on Power School!

 Red items will be submitted to me, Ms. Smith, through Google Classroom or Google Drive!  Red Items are due by the MONDAY of the following work week.  Week 2 items will be due Week 3 on the Monday.  Week 3 items will be due Week 4 on the Monday… and so on.

 All upcoming assignments will be posted through Google Classroom. It is from this site that you can download the assignment and post questions and comments to myself and/or other students enrolled in the course!  Check out the “Student Tutorial” video posted on our Google Classroom to help familiarize yourself with the site!

 * Very Important: Lessons will be broken into daily chunks of work (i.e. Day 1, Day 2 etc.). This is intended to help you organize your work schedule; however, you do not have to follow it if you have other organization plans.  For example, instead of working a little on each course per day you might prefer to select a subject and complete what needs to be done for the week in one day and then select another subject's lesson to complete the following day etc.

DayCourse Work 1 “Notes Diagram” – Found on Google Drive – (SS10-2 Cyber High) 2 “Day 2 Definitions” – Found on Google Drive 3 “India Calling Questions” – Found on Google Drive 4 “How Globalization affects People Socially” – Found on Google Classroom “Logo’s” and “World Map” – Found in Google Drive 5 “How Globalization affects People Socially” – Found on Google Classroom “Logo’s” and “World Map” – Found in Google Drive 6 “How Globalization Affects People Politically” - Found on Google Drive

 Step One:  Throughout the SS10 -2 program you will be required to do some exercises in a traditional notebook. This can either be a binder with loose leaf paper in it; a duo tang with loose leaf paper inserted or a booklet with blank lined pages in it. Although, Ms. Smith will not have to see this notebook you will need to complete some exercises in it as part of your learning progress/self-correct the work and send Ms. Smith your mark, which will count towards your overall average. For such exercises I will have follow-up questions to make sure that you have completed the notebook assignment.  Therefore, for this part of the lesson, please locate and set up your SS10-2 Social Studies Notebook. Please do this first as you have to begin your Notebook, in this lesson.

 Please locate and download the file “Notes Diagram” in Google Drive.  Print this handout and complete the diagram accordingly and store it in your SS 10-2 Notebook.  VERY IMPORTANT: The purpose of this diagram is to help you think about what you already know about Globalization and how it affects your life. You will be adding information to it at the end of this lesson, once you have looked closely at how globalization affects you economically, socially and politically. And at the end of this course, this diagram along with other course lesson assignments will help you be able to provide a good summarizing response to this KEY question of this program SS10-2: To what extent should we embraced Globalization?

 Please review pages 2-3 in your textbook, LIVING IN A GLOBALIZED WORLD  Please download the file “Day 2 Definitions” from the Week ½ folder on Google Drive.  Please “Share” this document with me so I can see your complete work and progress!

 Please read pages 4-12 in your textbook, Living in a Globalized World.  Please review the case study on page 11- India Calling and answer the questions located in your Week 1&2 folder in Google Drive titled “India Calling Questions”. Please share your document with me so I can see your progress!

 Please read pages in your textbook, Living in a Globalized World.  Please download the files “Worldmap” and “Logos” from Google Drive.  Please go to Google Classroom and download the assignment “How Globalization affects People Socially”

 Please read pages in your textbook, Living in a Globalizing World.  Please download the file “How Globalization Affects People Politically” from the week 1&2 folder on Google Drive and follow the instructions given.  Remember to SHARE this document with me so I can see your progress!
