Your Digital Footprint can help you with future opportunities. When you post something online, and future employers see it and like it, it can gain you future job opportunities.

Like, let’s say you wanted to work for a movie company. If you post one of your pieces to YouTube for example, a company might view it and contact you. mashable.com shows you 5 ways to find a job using YouTube!

Recently, a Liberal candidate named Maria Manna, expressed her opinions about 9/11. She said her comments were her truth, then later apologized. The Liberal Party has nominated a new candidate, therefore, Maria Manna lost her position as Liberal candidate.

Keeping Your Digital Footprint Safe and Appropriate

1. Be careful of what you post online. If it’s hateful or inappropriate, you wouldn’t want your dream job to be crushed if your future employer sees it.

2. Post your best work. If you don’t post your best work, your future employer, won’t see your potential.

3. Think before you post. If you think it’s hateful, annoying, or anything of that sort, don’t post it. If it’s nice, useful, good work, feel free to post it.

I would let other students know that being online is a good way to gain job opportunities, stay up-to-date, and social. I would tell them to be safe online, and that being open online isn’t bad, just as long as you’re safe.
