Leif the Lucky and Freya the Fierce have travelled to a far-off country, where a lot things are very different. The people here use shapes instead of numbers! But because maths works in the same way everywhere, they can crack this code. The coloured shapes stand for eleven of the numbers from 0 to 12. Each shape is a different number. Can you help Leif and Freya work out what they are from the multiplications below? Cuboids

There’s a number you need to find. Four of the clues below are true but don’t help much in finding the number. Four of the clues are very useful for finding it. Here are eight clues to use: 1.The number is greater than 9. 2.The number is not a multiple of The number is a multiple of 7. 4.The number is odd. 5.The number is not a multiple of The number is less than Its ones digit is larger than its tens digit. 8.Its tens digit is odd. What is the number? Can you sort out the four clues that help and the four clues that do not help in finding it? Spheres

Multiplication squares can be very useful for helping us to learn multiplication! To help understand how they work, put together this multiplication square jigsaw. HINT: It will help you a lot if you use multiplication to work out which numbers go where! You can cut out the pieces and stick them on the empty square attached to this sheet, or go to to do it on the computer. If you use a computer, print it off and stick it in your book at the end.
