Our Program  Multiple Subject 16 Week Student Teaching in one classroom Students currently complete a Math or Literacy Teaching Event Beginning Spring 2009 all students will complete a Math Teaching Event  Single Subject 20 Week Student Teaching in Credential Subject area Complete teaching Event in Credential Subject

Obstacles in Remediation  Time to complete before end of student teaching (especially for Multiple Subject)  Remediation in the past, sometimes difficult to find school site due to end of semester  Therefore, Teaching Events are submitted at the end of: 11th week of Multiple Subject experience 12th week of Single Subject experience

What Made Remediation Successful  Changed the school site, master teacher and subject  Several individual sessions discussing: Good instruction Planning with the end in mind Set up a schedule for completion Shared samples of previously completed successful Teaching Events Reviewed the rubric (spent most of discussion on requirements for 1 and 2)  Tech support person at University worked with logistics of video  One-on-one contact throughout process
