Grand Canyon  a steep-sided (=strmé) valley created by the Colorado River  situated in the north of the state of Arizona in the USA  a part of Grand Canyon National Park (one of the first parks founded in the USA, President T. Roosevelt was a major proponent of the establishment of the park)  caused by erosion when the North America was alternately under the sea level  first seen by Spanish in the 16th century (García López de Cárdenas)  the best place on our planet to see individual layers of the Earth´s crust  first people who lived there – a tribe of Native Americans - the Hualopai  today - a favourite tourist attraction - walking, rafting
