Some Remarks on EUROTeV D. Schulte

EUROTeV Introduction EUROTeV includes technology independent aspects of ILC and CLIC –Instrumentation –Beam dynamics Co-funded by a number of institutes and the EU –Total EU contribution is about 9MEURO –More matching resources from institutes The project lasts from 1 January 2005 until 31 December 2007 –Extension might be possible

Benefits EU pays for five fellows CERN contributes staff, students and associates Both contribute to the hardware projects Both contribute to the travel and minor costs

EUROTeV Organisation EUROTeV has eight working groups –Management (MNGMNT) –Beam delivery system (BDS) –Damping rings (DR) –Positron source (PPS) –Instrumentation (DIAG) –Beam dynamics (ILPS) –Ground motion (METSTB) –GAN (GAN) The groups are split in tasks

Generic Workplan Details differ but overall workplan is similar for all contributions –Detailed workplan ready mid 2005 –First round of results mid 2006 –First draft of final report mid 2007 –Final report end 2007

CERN Involvement (1) BDS –Non linear collimation system design (BDSLD) Frank, Daniel, Javier, Maxim, Takao –Wake field calculations (SWMD) Frank, Daniel, Maxim, (Warner) DR –Electron cloud studies (ECLOUD) Frank, Daniel, Elena, Francesco, Warner

CERN Involvement (2) DIAG –Phase reference for timing (TPMON) Jonathan, Alex, Stephen –Wide band current monitor (WBCM) Lars, Alexej, Ivan, Salvatore, Sebastien, NN. –High precision BPM (PTBPM) Lars, Alexej, Ivan, Salvatore, Sebastien, NN.

CERN Involvement (3) ILPS –Failure mode simulations (FMSIM) –Collimation simulations (COLSIM) –Luminosity and alignment studies (LAST) Daniel, Andrea, Frank, Javier, Maxim, Peder, Takao –Halo and tail generation studies (HTGEN) Helmut, Lionel

CERN Involvement (4) Scientific Coordinator: Gilbert ILPS workpackage coordinator: Daniel CERN representative in gouverning board: Gilbert

CERN Organisation Technical Coordinator: Daniel Deputy: Gilbert –Need to track personnel and spending and help ensure CERN is contributing as promised People are in charge of their specific contribution

Reporting There will be reporting to the EU –Once a year, maybe a mid-term review –Have to see how work status will be reported –Financial reporting will require auditing Can affect EU contribution Reporting to the DG –Twice a year, maybe three pages Work status List of publications, achioevements, deliverables etc. Resources mainly by finances

Financial Stuff Four pairs of accounts –One always EU money, one from CERN General, includes personnel, computers, travel WBCM PTBPM TPMON –In general, overall costs need to be split between accounts but each item should be charged to one only For EU to first order the same rules apply as for CERN For EU-fellows time sheets need to filled out Please remind purchasing that they need to provide a seperate bill at the end of the year More from Gilbert

Conclusion Lets look at the work
