The Courts  The first court to hear a case is the trial court  If you lose a case in the trial court, you can appeal to a higher court  When you appeal a case the appellate court will: 1. Affirm it- agree with the verdict 2. Reverse it- reject the verdict 3. Remand it- send it back to the lower court
