Making it Count

5 Essential Questions 1. Who will use the iPad? 2. How will the iPad be used? 3. What are your management techniques? 4. How will you continue to learn about effective usage of the iPad? 5. How will you share what you learn?

1. In Whose Hands? Are you going to share? It is important to introduce the iPad as a respected tool in the classroom. One for both the teacher and student to enjoy. Trust your students to use it, TEACH them how to handle it, and make them responsible for it’s upkeep. Give them ownership.

2. The Perfect Fit It is important to find time during your day to seamlessly work the iPad into your routine. Use the iPad to substitute activities that you already complete daily: group assignments, differentiated instruction, whole- group instruction, etc.

3. Good Management How will you ensure that the iPad is used to it’s fullest potential? How will all students have access to use it throughout the day or week? What routines will your students follow when utilizing the device?

4. iKnow The world of the iPad is ever-changing and always growing. As a teacher, it is important to always stay ten steps ahead of your students. (especially if you are a middle/upper school teacher). Continue to research and explore new ways to bring the iPad into the classroom.

5. iShare Do not keep your knowledge and expertise to yourself! Reach out to your administration and fellow teachers. Share ways in which you are making learning fun and cutting edge in your classroom. Be techie, be proud!
