A consumer is an organism that can NOT get its energy directly from the sun. It must consume food to get energy. Example: elephant

 An herbivore is an animal that eats only plants.  Example: cows

A carnivore is an animal that eats only meat. Example: tiger

 A food chain shows the feeding relationship in a direct line in an ecosystem.

 A food web shows all of the food chains connected to each other within an ecosystem.
