This City Tech Campus Survival Guide was put together by current City Tech Students to help you, the incoming freshman, get a head start on the college experience with some tips, tricks, and tutorials that will help you get the most out of your college experience. Scheduling Classes Once logged in, go to Self Service > Student Center > Enroll Select which term you are scheduling classes for, then click continue To schedule classes, you must go to CUNYfirst and log into the portal

Scheduling Classes (cont.) Enter the 4 or 5-digit class number in the Nbr field OR click the Search tab. If using the search option, only select the course subject from the dropdown menu and click the search button. On the next page you can select your class and that will add it to your shopping cart.

Scheduling Classes (cont.) Navigate to your shopping cart. Click the small blue box and then click enroll. In the confirm classes section, click the finish enrolling button. Even if your class is an online course, CUNYfirst will not let you enroll if the course time overlaps any other course you are enrolled in.

Open your web browser (you will see the registration page ) Tip: You want to have your City Tech and Emplid # on hand, before hand. You will need them to sign into a lot of City Tech portals!

City Tech Freshman Tips Explore the school in your free time – you can find some pretty cool hang out and study spots for you and your friends. Take advantage of your professors’ office hours! Use that time to get one-on-one time with your professor to go over any part of the curriculum that you need help with. It’s best to link your school to your phone, or have your incoming mail forwarded to an address that you use frequently. Remember that you are in control of your academic life from here on out. If you are not serious, the only person’s time you will waste is your own.
