Peruvian Amazon and Indian Himalayan cases compared What are the problems identified with formal (state or church) schooling by the two indigenous communities? In what sense, is education not neutral when it comes to indigenous cultures and societies? How did the two indigenous organizations react and act to promote different models schooling? What were the attitudes of the state authorities and the non-indigenous actors?

Finally How to support the indigenous communities, help them to take advantage of economic and social opportunities, while respecting their cultural identity?
