Classroom Management Bus Ride By, Mrs. Savita A. Malshe CIED 5022 October 15, 2007

Effective classroom learning through applying basic norms of behavior during classroom….. like a “school bus” following basic rules of driving Beginning of the class: Coming to the classroom quietly with the necessary materials, submitting assignments in the designated areas, and sitting in assigned seats. During class: Polite and respectful language and behavior with classmates and teacher, raising hands to ask questions and wait patiently to be asked. After class: Waiting to be dismissed by the teacher, cleaning up and moving to the next period. Miscellaneous: No talking and leaving desks during public address announcements, policies of accessing special equipment like computers, calculators, procedures for fire and disaster drill.

Monitoring student work Helping students becoming responsible and independent learners Record keeping of daily homework, quiz, and test grades and then entering grades on a secure website. Communicating with students the procedure of grading and percentage of each component in grading. Grading students for homework completion, neat work, correctness, class participation and participation in group activities. Assignments accepted late only one time. 24 hour extension for make up assignment. Monitoring long term projects on a periodic basis. Accessibility by students and their parents to grades through a website.
