MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory NASA MSFC Engineering Directorate Huntsville, Alabama POIF End-to-End Process Review Payload Operations Integrator (POINT) Responsibilities Bobby Money Rodney Gilbert

MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 2 NASA MSFC Engineering Directorate Huntsville, Alabama Payload Operations Integrator (POINT)  Level III and Level IV Schedules  Teams provide inputs to POIF Scheduler (M. Bentley) per POH Vol. 1  POH procedure still in review (SOP 3.8)  Proposal is to include a table in the procedure documenting the specific Level III and Level IV inputs that will be provided  How teams gather and report inputs will be internal team decisions  POINT develops an Integrated Level IV schedule based on inputs given to POIF Scheduler  POINT assists Lead POD in interpreting and maintaining Level III schedule based on integrated Level IV schedule

MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 3 NASA MSFC Engineering Directorate Huntsville, Alabama Payload Operations Integrator (POINT)  CoFR  Data collection  Lead POD and POINT own collection of data  LPA/OWTL/CoFR  Data Interpretation  POINT works with Lead POD to generate memos and interpret inputs  POINT evaluates inputs based on knowledge of Level IV inputs  Payload PDR/CDR RID Coordination  Receive PDR/CDR review package from PIM and provide to appropriate POIF contacts per POH Vol. 1 (SOP 3.9)  Collect proposed RIDs and coordinate as necessary with originator and affected parties  Present RIDs at Sub-PLOT  Incorporate any comments from Sub-PLOT and submit approved RIDs to PIM

MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 4 NASA MSFC Engineering Directorate Huntsville, Alabama Payload Operations Integrator (POINT)  IPLFOR  Develop Payload Operations Products Readiness Matrix  Gather inputs from POIF increment contacts to develop this matrix prior to the IPLFOR  Matrix includes operations product readiness for every payload to be operated during the Increment  Present matrix during IPLFOR and update as required  CEF Coordination  Lead POD owns collection of inputs  POINT participation in management of process still to be determined

MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 5 NASA MSFC Engineering Directorate Huntsville, Alabama Payload Operations Integrator (POINT)  Other Duties  Prior to assignment of Lead POD (I-12), assess Payload Manifest to help determine which payloads POIF should be working  POH Vol. 1 procedure still in work (SOP 3.10)  Support PCB, RPWG, PMIT, PLOT, and CoFR Status meetings as required  POINT Support  Full-time support will begin October 1, 2005  Increment 13 – Bobby Money  Increment 14 – Rodney Gilbert  Chart on the following page shows POINT work template  POINT starts working at I–18 months if required and works to the end of the Increment if required  Each POINT never works more than two increments simultaneously as indicated on the next chart (assumes two POINTs)
